So the question is, how did I get started? By a poorly lit path, finding my way mostly in the dark.
It started about 5 1/2 years ago with a diagnosis of Lyme disease. I had been a karate instructor, an avid mountain biker and hiker, an occasional endurance racer and the mom of two boys. The Lyme changed all that. I became a sick person struggling each day to do the simple things like go grocery shopping and walk the dogs. It was a successful day if I could actually keep it together long enough to make dinner for my family. There were good days, when I thought I was beating it, but it always came back to slam me back down. It took years before I finally realized that though I am better than in the beginning, I may never be able to do the things I used to do, though I do still hope that it may change, I haven’t beat it yet.
Then we went on a holiday/business trip to St. Thomas, an absolute mecca for jewelry and I was amazed. My darling bought me two rings, one diamond and one tanzanite and I fell in love with the beautiful things. This is something I can enjoy and learn about and fill my life with that the Lyme cannot take away. I love researching gemstones, I love discovering the styles of the past and the history that surrounds each piece, I love the wonder and mystery that is vintage jewelry.
If I can share my passion with others through my curated collection of pieces that I consider to be very cool, beautiful and individual, then I have achieved what I set out to do. Thank you for looking at my shop and at my lovely jewelry!
